Our team of experienced optometrists and registered dispensing opticians are here to help you make the right choices regarding your eyesight, spectacles and lenses. And, as a long established family practice we can ensure continuity of care that is individually tailored around you.

Paul Stickland – Dispensing optician

Paul, has owned the practice since 2008. He qualified from City and East London college and has over 30 years experience in dispensing

He has worked in private practice in management and locum roles, and in the adult and children’s hospital eye service.

Paul’s attention to your personal requirements ensures that you receive the very best frame and lenses, to suit your lifestyle, budget and that make you feel comfortable and look fabulous.

Fiona Broome – OPTOMETRIST

Our resident Optometrist, Fiona qualified from The City University, London, and took her professional examination in 1984 and went on to pass her Diploma in Contact Lens Practice in 1986.

She has always worked in independent practice and has a special interest in contact lens fitting and supporting children with eye conditions that lead to learning difficulties such as binocular instability and visual stress.

Outside of work, Fiona volunteered at a charity run eye camp in Uganda in January 2017. The aim was to see people in rural areas with no access to eye care but only basic health care provision. She has also just completed a cycle ride from Land’s End to John O’Groats to raise money for the charity.

At the Richard Tildesley Practice, dispensing is only ever carried out by fully qualified, registered dispensing opticians, as we believe this is the only way to provide the best level of customer care.

Elinor Brown – Optical Advisor

Ellie has 6 years experience as an Optical Advisor, and has been part of the dispensing team with the practice since 2022.

As well as taking care of pre-exam checks she assists with choosing frames, fits new glasses upon collection and makes adjustments and repairs.

Outside of work, Ellie enjoys gardening, tending to an allotment in the heart of Chichester.

Since joining the practice, Ellie’s friendly and calm nature has been appreciated by both our patients and her colleagues.

Alexandra Allen – Optometrist

Meet our new Optometrist Alex. Alex graduated from Cardiff University in 2019. Since qualifying she has worked mainly in the independent sector. She started her career in optics working as a ‘Saturday Girl’ at the age of 13! Alex’s particular interests are paediatric and contact lenses.

Outside of work, she enjoys playing netball and walking her dog, Waffle.

Mark Freeman

Mark is a registered Dispensing Optician who has almost 40 years experience having qualified in 1984.

Mark has worked in both multiple and independent practices and has a genuine passion for dispensing and providing a great service.

When not at work, Mark has a wide range of interests including walking, Pilates, swimming, foreign travel, and fine food – either in a restaurant or cooked at home!

Cazal

When passion for a product is reflected in the design, there is no-one like Cari Zalloni, whose eyewear designs became a cult in the 80s. He was a visionary who revolutionised eyewear design and created trends that were way ahead of their time, second to none. He crafted an extraordinary style that polarised opinions and has cast a spell over his fans to this day.

CAZAL defined the typical hip-hop look of the 80s like no other brand. Some of the legendary designs from that era are still trendsetting even now. Eyewear lovingly nicknamed “Cazzy” by its fans.
